Lens 18-250mm f3.5-6.3 HSM DC OS Macro Sigma Sony (18-250mm 3.5-6.3 OS Macro Sony)

Sigma 18-250mm f3.5-6.3 macro OS HSM lens to fit Sony A mount SLR cameras - OS not available for Pentax or Sony. Designed exclusively for digital SLR cameras, this compact, high performance, high zoom ratio lens makes landscape, sport and macro photography possible with the one lens. By revolutionising the optical and structural design of earlier models, the Sigma 18-250mm F3.5-6.3 DC OS HSM achieves a compact lightweight size and a minimum focusing distance of 35cm. Covering wide angle 18mm to telephoto 250mm, this versatile lens is ideal for photographers wishing to keep equipment to a minimum, yet still be prepared for all opportunities and situations, such as travels. “Sigma is constantly trying to improve and expand its lens lineup, and this addition is no exception,” said Clem Kennedy, Director, C.R. Kennedy. “By redesigning the lens and utilising innovative new lightweight materials, Sigma is able to offer this very compact, feature-rich lens that is flexible enough to tackle landscape, sport and macro photography. This is key for photographers who want to travel light but pack the punch of a complete camera bag.” Key features 1. Excellent for macro photography Close-up capability is improved with the minimum focusing distance of 35cm throughout the entire zoom range, and maximum magnification ratio of 1:2.9. In APS-C size equivalent, macro photography with approximately 1:2 magnification ratio is possible. In addition, this lens enables the size and framing of subjects to be adjusted by rotating a zoom ring, making macro photography easier than using fixed focal macro lens. For further convenience, the maximum magnification ratio at each focusing distance appears on the side of the lens barrel. 2. Revolutionising the design foundation results in compact size Sigma has optimised this lens' power arrangement by incorporating double-sided aspherical lenses and reexamining the design to achieve a more compact filter diameter. The lens has an approximate 13x high zoom ratio with a filter size of 62mm in diameter. It ensures portability and overall ease of use, making it perfect for travel and leisure photography. 3. New material TSC (Thermally Stable Composite) With the release of this lens, Sigma has pioneered the use of new material TSC (Thermally Stable Composite), which is incorporated into the lens barrel. Often compared to polycarbonate, TSC has a higher degree of elasticity, reducing the prevalence of internal barrel expansion and contraction when exposed to extreme temperature variations. TSC also contributes to the lens’s light weight and compact size, enabling parts such as the zoom ring and scaling to be slimmer. 4. Brass made bayonet mount The lens incorporates a brass made bayonet mount to reinforce strength for long-term use and enable high accuracy and solidity. 5. Optical Stabilizer (OS) Sigma’s own unique Optical Stabilizer (OS) function is incorporated. It offers effective correction of approximately 4 stops, which makes it possible to compensate camera shake even in macro range photography where a small blur can be easily identified. When photographing a moving subject such as motor sport, it automatically detects camera move, and offers effective correction for camera shake. * The OS effectiveness will gradually decrease as the shooting distance becomes shorter. Sony and Pentax mounts are not incorporated with OS function. 6. Superior optical performance SLD (Special Low Dispersion) glass element offers excellent correction of colour aberration. Three aspherical lenses including double-sided aspherical lens together with the latest design, prevent and correct all types of aberrations including astigmatism, achieving high quality images throughout the entire zoom range. 7. Flare and ghosting conscious design blades Super Multi-Layer Coating reduces flare and ghosting, and provides sharp and high contrast images even in backlit conditions. Supplied petal-type hood can be attached to block out extraneous light which can have a harmful influence on rendering of the lens and prevent internal reflections to occur. 8. Hyper Sonic Motor (HSM) is incorporated The HSM (Hyper Sonic Motor) ensures fast and quiet auto-focusing. 9. Diaphragm blades The rounded 7 blade diaphragm creates an attractive round blur to the out of focus areas.
